The Annapolis Bicycle Racing Team (ABRT) is one of the top-ranked amateur cycling teams in the United States. USA Cycling, the governing body of bicycle racing in this country, selected ABRT as their "Club of the Year" in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2003. ABRT has also won the Mid-Atlantic Bicycle Racing Association Best All Around Team 11 years in a row, 12 years total. Our team has over 100 regular members ranging in age from 14 to 62 years old with abilities ranging from novice to elite level.
Our team's wins include the 2003 Men's Elite National Championship Road Race, Masters World Championships in 2005, third place at USPRO Criterium Championships 2005, third place at Pan Am Championships in 2003, along with many other podium placings at national, regional and international events.
Over the years, ABRT has been active in promoting bicycle safety and has conducted numerous safety clinics at area schools and for youth groups. We also put on some of the best racing in the district, including the Walkersville Road Race, The Church Creek Summer and Fall Time Trials, and the popular Bay Country Century.
We welcome new members and sponsors who share our commitment to our mission statement: to promote the sport of cycling, and the visibility of our sponsors, through excellence in competition, athlete development, and event promotion.
